Harrogate Barns

We were asked to design a new dwelling for a family of 4, on a rural site near Harrogate. The final design is a house of agricultural character with two parts. A two storey dark timber clad element, housing an open plan family kitchen / dining space, a living area incorporating a double height space and framed views of the landscape. Two bedrooms are located at first floor.  A single storey stone built element houses further sleeping accommodation.

The building responds to the site, in terms of levels, character of neighbouring farmhouses and the wider landscape.
